Full-Time Positions

  • Director, International Interventions

    NNSC is seeking a full-time, New York City-based Director to oversee our international violence reduction work. NNSC’s International portfolio was officially launched in 2017. In a short period of time, the International team has established multi-year partnerships in Mexico and Sweden. The IIT has also completed analytic work in El Salvador and has a range of ongoing exploratory conversations with countries as diverse as Australia, Colombia, Brazil and South Africa. The National Network for Safe Communities at John Jay College of Criminal Justice (NNSC) focuses on supporting cities implementing proven strategic interventions to reduce violence and improve public safety, minimize arrest and incarceration, strengthen communities, and improve relationships between law enforcement and the communities it serves.

  • Managing Director

    The National Network for Safe Communities at John Jay College (NNSC) seeks a Managing Director to oversee the programmatic impact and success of NNSC, cultivate collaboration and accountability across all departments, facilitate strategic thinking, and institute effective management processes and procedures. The Managing Director, a member of the senior management team, reports and serves as a thought partner to the NNSC Director.

  • Mexico-based Strategic Advisor, International Interventions (Chihuahua-based)

    The National Network for Safe Communities (NNSC) at John Jay College is seeking a full-time, Chihuahua-based Strategic Advisor to support our violence reduction work in Chihuahua, Mexico. The Advisor will be a senior member of the International team, which provides hands-on strategic advising to partner cities implementing NNSC’s interventions internationally.

  • Mexico-based Strategic Advisor, International Interventions Team (Nuevo Leon-based)

    The National Network for Safe Communities at John Jay College (NNSC) is seeking a full-time Strategic Advisor to support our violence reduction work in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The Advisor will be a senior member of the International team, which provides hands-on strategic advising to partner cities implementing NNSC’s interventions internationally. This position is based in Nuevo Leon State, Mexico.

  • Strategic Advisor, Intimate Partner Violence Intervention (IPVI)

    The National Network for Safe Communities (NNSC) at John Jay College seeks a full-time Advisor for the Intimate Partner Violence Intervention team. The Intimate Partner Violence Intervention team provides hands-on strategic advising to partner cities implementing NNSC’s interventions around the country. The Advisor is responsible for providing this strategic advising to a portfolio of partner jurisdictions, guiding them in implementing the core elements of the Intimate Partner Intervention effectively, and working with them to innovate in pursuit of effective intimate partner violence reduction and public safety outcomes.

Internships

  • Communications Intern - Spring 2019 (Early January - May)

    The National Network for Safe Communities (NNSC) at John Jay College seeks a part-time or full-time student intern to support its Communications team. NNSC supports cities to implement and advance proven strategies that reduce violence and improve public safety, minimize arrest and incarceration, strengthen communities, and improve relationships between law enforcement and communities. The Communications team provides cross-cutting support to each of NNSC’s programmatic teams. In particular, the communications team drafts newsletters and articles, manages NNSC’s social media channels, attends events, and handles press inquiries from local and national publications.

  • Special Projects Intern - Spring 2019 (Early January - May)

    The National Network for Safe Communities (NNSC) at John Jay College seeks a part-time or full-time student intern to support its Special Projects team. NNSC supports cities to implement and advance proven strategies that reduce violence and improve public safety, minimize arrest and incarceration, strengthen communities, and improve relationships between law enforcement and communities. The Special Projects team plans, coordinates, and executes NNSC events including but not limited to workshops, conferences, receptions, and collaborative learning opportunities such as peer exchanges and working sessions.
